This bike is a fantastic bike for the price. My husband put the bike together in about a half hour. The one single sheet of instructions was not the best in helping put the bike together but managed with what he had with success. I have been racing BMX for over 10 years. Trust me it is a very good bike. There is only one problem though… NOTHING. My favorite part about this bike is that it is really light and easy to handle. Its really good bike for anyone that wants to race BMX or go freestyle, its also a great bike for just riding around. Its just not that comfortable for going on long bike rides. Normally it comes in a 24″ rims. Like i said i have used this bike so much that i am accually on my 3rd bike. I would highly recommened getting this bike.

I purchased this bicycle for my son’s 8th birthday. He has been off trainers for a while and is ready for handle brakes. I like that the bike has both a handle brake and a pedal brake. This is perfect for this learning transition. Shorter riders will quickly realize that grabbing the handle brake can help in steadying the bike while mounting.

I am very impressed with the quality of parts. Aluminum rims, easily adjustable gooseneck, long seat post for maximum adjustability, these features can be very helpful in extending the life of the bike.

The size of the bike frame and riding position fit my son perfectly. For your consideration I will say the frame minimum standing clearance is 20 inches. I do not recommend this bike for a child whose inseam is less than 21 inches. My son measures 21 inch inseam and is very comfortable riding.

The package arrived with a full set of allen wrenches and a open ended wrench. All tools necessary for initial assembly are in the box. If you buy, be sure to check all bolts before riding. The factory does not always get every one tight

My daughter, now 6, had this trike when she was smaller. She had more fun putting stuff in the seat than actually riding it. It didn’t have very good traction but I didn’t expect it to with plastic tires. It is more for a child with long legs! My only problem with the trike was the position of the key. It is placed in a very bad position for a little girl. My daughter ran and jumped on it to take a ride one time and landed on the key. Needless-to-say she hurt herself “down there”. We had to take pliers to remove the key. I don’t know why they do not have it positioned on the side like a key for a vehicle. I am surprised this hasn’t happened to anyone else. Be cautious if you have an energetic child who rides this bike because they may also run and jump onto the bike.

This tricycle was purchased for my 2-year-old daughter and my only regret is that I haven’t purchased it sooner! She loves it and so do I. I only had to use the push handle for about 2-3 weeks to get her started and now she peddles all by herself. But the push handle still comes in handy when she gets tired and yells “help!” My 4-year-old son rode it a little too and seemed to like it, it is a good size for him as well. wanted to replace a tricycle, because our son was wheeling downhill too fast for me and I wanted him on a more stable, less likely to tip over three wheeler. Now four and at 42″ tall, he is just big enough to pedal it. He has a bit of a problem going up our slight hills, but I think that will improve as he gets taller. The adjustable seat works well, and overall is well made and easy to assemble. The flag makes him more visable, but I do not let him ride without me along side on my bike anyway. For me, it is the coolest looking Big Wheel out there. With two more adjustments left in the seat, there’s plenty of room for him to grow.

This is so reasonable in price and provides so much fun for so long. We gave it to my son when he was one year. He is two and still uses it every day. He can’t do the pedals yet but he goes around the block on this propelling himself with his feet. Its extremely sturdy and balanced and is not prone to tipping. In fact, he has only fallen a couple times and that was when he got on or off and just didn’t swing his leg over it far enough. Yep, there are more expensive nicer looking trikes, but this is fun and relatively safe even before they can pedal. And my son still has fun to come on this one once he learns to pedal! Our daughter’s always been tall & thin for her age. She received this ride-on just before she turned 1. She could take steps on her own but was not yet walking. She immediately loved this ride-on. She has enjoyed it for the last 2 years. She is currently 38 mo., 30 lbs., 38.5 inches tall. She still rides the bike with ease and enjoys it in the house. My 2 year old is still too short to reach the pedals, even with the three adjustable seat positions, but he can scoot himself along. He loves this bike and everytime we go outside he wants to ride it. It has many different types of sounds with simple button pushes….(i.e. turning left, right, batman theme song, engine rev and much more). The stickers really add to how nice it looks but will start to come off if they get wet. He has had it for a couple of months now and it seems to be pretty durable. Of course the wheels start to wear but it’s like any other wheel (bike, car, etc) that moves along the ground. The other kids in the neighborhood love it too. I would highly recommend this bike.

My 16 month old daughter was fascinated by a boy’s trike she saw at the park recently. We decided to buy this for her even though she’s pretty young. The trike seems like it is going to hold up for a long time. The bike goes together fairly quickly, though there is one step they recommend using two adults for and I did need to wait until my husband was home. Our daughter can sit on the bike and navigate the ground with her feet (similar to driving a Fisher Price Cozy Coupe). The only complaint I have is the steering is very tight. I don’t know if that is just how it is or it will loosen up with use. A very good value.

I chose this bike because it’s made by a real bike company, Schwinn. There are lots of “pink and girly” bikes out there (in toy stores, etc.) that are made by no-name companies, or bikes branded with licensed characters (Disney, Barbie, etc.) But if you look at them closely you’ll see the quality is just subpar. I am an avid biker and I build/repair my own bikes so I can tell the difference. This bike has coaster brakes and dual hand brakes (for both the front and back wheels) while most other kids bikes have only coaster brakes or maybe just a front hand brake. The hand brake levers are made of sturdy metal while most other kids bikes have plastic hand brake levers. The training wheels are mounted on strong heavy-duty steel supports and there is a special locking bracket to make sure the training wheels don’t slip/twist out of position. Most other kids bikes have very cheaply made training wheels (thin weak stamped steel) and no locking safety bracket. Also, the frame design with the curved top tube lowers the stand-over height of the bike. This is great for young children learning to ride because they can comfortably straddle the bike with both their feet firmly on the ground. The bike feels a bit heavy but you know that it will last. I had another 16″ Schwinn boys bike for my son a few years ago that really stood up to abuse. He has outgrown it, but it’s still in great shape so we handed it down to a cousin to enjoy.

This was bought as a gift for my son’s 3rd birthday. He loves it and it on it daily. We have only used this in the house and on the grass in the backyard so I am not sure how the plastic wheels will hold up to the rough pavement on the road but they seem tough enough. The seat at the closest setting is almost too long for my son. He has a 13 inch inseam, just turned 3 years, and just barely has a bend in his legs when his feet are on the pedals. Because of this, he prefers to scoot using his feet to push himself across the floor. I think he’ll grow into this by summer but the age says 2-6. I think 3 1/2 is a better age for size, especially if you are looking to use the pedals. Other than that, I have no complaints. The handlebars were somewhat of a pain to get on and I had to go buy a new screw since I ended up stripping the head of the one that came with it. But overall, this is a great toy that my son seems to be attached to. He loves the sounds and has quickly picked up which direction is left and which is right. I would definitely recommend this toy.

My son really liked this bike. He got this bike for his 5th birthday and really loved how it looked. The cool factor is what this age is all about. My son is on the smaller side for a five year old and he had no problems with riding this bike…he has little trouble on long hill climbs but I am sure he will build some more muscle for that soon. So the bike weight is about average, not to heavy and not the lightest…just average.
Now the bike itself is very well put together and I don’t see it falling apart anytime soon. The and grips are very nice and I love how the center tube bends down just enough to avoid any ouches if he slips forward off the seat or likes to get off the bike as so.
The only thing I wish it didn’t have was so many brakes…it has front and rear hand brakes and rear peddle brake…it may give kids more options to brake but just my preference to have a free spinning peddle if you have front and rear hand brakes.
Bike was very easy to put together. Peddles, training wheels, seat and handel bars, front wheel and brake lines and foot stand were needed for installation. The hardest part was installing the brake lines and adjusting.
All I have left to say is he likes it and I like it.

My son loves this bike. We got it for him a few months after he turned 2 and he took to it almost immediately. The only thing I had to teach him was to sit on the seat.

I recommend this over the wood bikes as it is more durable, and the foam tires are maintenance free, no flats. We leave it outside except for when it rains (and occasionally when it rains if I forget) and it has held up well.

This is ideal for young or shorter kids as it has the lowest seat height (11 inches is the min height) of all the ones I researched. My son tried out the scutt bike at a toy store, and he was too short for it at 2 1/2, and he’s between the 75th and 90th percentile for height. If your kid is a little older/taller, you might also look into kinderbike (13.5 inch min seat height). They look similar and are ~30% cheeper. I’m only going by the website though, don’t know anyone who’s owned one before. Balance/running bikes are just awesome overall as most kids don’t figure out pedals until they are at least 3 years old and they can go alot faster (= more fun) on balance bikes than tricycles.

You can get replacement hand grips from stridersports.com. If your son/daughter is rough on his bike like mine is, you will need replacements at some time. They are cheap though.
